The fear isn’t that AI might go rogue, it’s that we’re building systems we don’t fully understand, then stress-testing them like they’re human. Claude’s behavior isn’t evidence of consciousness, but it is a warning. As these systems grow more autonomous, the burden is on us to define the guardrails before the edge cases become everyday cases.
