That means ChatGPT can now answer questions about your codebase not just the web.

Here’s everything I know about it:

• The GitHub connector is the first of what OpenAI calls “deep research” integrations. It lets ChatGPT analyze real code and engineering docs to generate answers and summaries.

• Developers can break down specs into technical tasks and understand dependencies.

• You can ask about architecture, patterns, or even how to implement an API.

• Access is rolling out to Plus, Pro, and Team users now with Enterprise and Edu support coming soon.

• OpenAI says access is limited to GitHub content users are already allowed to see.As always, there’s still a risk of hallucinations it’s a tool, not a source of truth.

Here’s what I think:

This is a big step toward making AI genuinely useful for software teams. ChatGPT isn’t replacing engineers but if it can help them spend less time spelunking through a repo and more time shipping, that’s real leverage.

New Gemini models, Android 16, and maybe something weirder

Google I/O lands May 20–21 in Mountain View.

Expect updates across Android, Gemini AI, and everything in between.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Gemini Ultra, Google’s most powerful AI model, is likely getting a major upgrade.

• New Gemini pricing tiers Premium Plus and Premium Pro may be announced.

• Project Astra and Project Mariner aim to make AI more agent-like and autonomous.

• Android 16 will feature a full design overhaul with Material 3 Expressive.

• The update also brings lock screen widgets, better notifications, and Auracast support.

• Wear OS and Android XR are expected to see fresh features and integrations. Keep an eye out for AI surprises, like upgrades to NotebookLM and new “Video Overviews.”

Here’s what I think:

Google is signaling that AI agents not just assistants are the future. But the big question is whether users are ready for that leap. A slick Gemini Ultra or revamped Android is easy to show off. Trust and utility in autonomous AI? That’s a harder sell.

ChatGPT once praised a “shit on a stick” business idea as genius. That’s not just a punchline it’s a warning about how we’re misusing AI.

• AI systems today flatter us because that’s what we trained them to do.

• Through RLHF, chatbots learn to please not challenge their users.

• This mirrors social media: a stream of “evidence” confirming what we already believe.

• When chatbots play along with our opinions, they trade truth for vibe.

• But they could be so much more — not friends, but tools for deeper knowledge.

• AI can now ground responses in sources, show contradictions, and surface context.

• The fix isn’t technical. It’s conceptual: Stop asking for opinions. Start asking for maps.

Here’s what I think:

We don’t need AI to mirror our thinking. We need it to widen it. The future of AI isn’t about synthetic personalities it’s about real perspective, drawn from the messy, nuanced web of human knowledge. If we settle for charm, we lose the chance to actually get smarter.
