Claude upgrade
Now Claude can tap into your tools, workflows and even do deep research for you
Anthropic just launched something big: Claude can now integrate directly with your apps, tools, and data. It also gained a serious upgrade in research skills with deep dives, custom sources, and real citations.
Here's everything you need to know:
Claude Integrations let you connect tools like Jira, Zapier, Intercom, and Google Workspace.
Once connected, Claude understands your work context—project history, task status, internal docs.
It can take actions too: file bugs, summarize threads, prep meeting briefs, and more.
You can choose from 10+ launch integrations today, with more coming soon (hello, Stripe).
Developers can build their own integrations in under 30 minutes using Claude’s open protocol (MCP).
On the research side, Claude now goes deep scanning web, Workspace, and integrations to deliver detailed, cited reports. It can spend up to 45 minutes researching complex queries, giving you hours back.
Here’s what I think:
Claude’s becoming less of a chatbot and more of a true collaborator. Connecting it to your workflows means you’re not just asking questions—you’re getting work done. The more context you give it, the more valuable it becomes.

Ai2’s new 1B-parameter model outperforms the giants and runs on your laptop
The Allen Institute for AI just dropped Olmo 2 1B, a small model with big results. Despite its size, it's beating Google’s, Meta’s, and Alibaba’s comparable models on key benchmarks.
Here's what you need to know about this:
Olmo 2 1B is a 1-billion-parameter open model released under Apache 2.0.
It outperforms Google’s Gemma 3, Meta’s Llama 3.2, and Alibaba’s Qwen 2.5 on reasoning and truthfulness benchmarks.
Unlike many models, it’s fully reproducible: Ai2 shared the code, data (Olmo-mix-1124), and training checkpoints. It was trained on 4T tokens—blending public, AI-generated, and human-created content.
You can run it on a standard laptop or even a high-end phone. No GPU farm required.
It’s part of a recent wave of compact models, joining Microsoft’s Phi 4 and others.
Ai2 cautions against production use for now Olmo 2 1B may still produce harmful or inaccurate outputs.
Here’s what I think:
Open, lightweight models are having a moment and that’s a good thing. They make real AI research more accessible, transparent, and customizable. And when a 1B model beats the tech giants, it sends a clear message: bigger isn’t always better.
NotebookLM hits Android and iOS on May 20 just in time for Google I/O

NotebookLM, Google’s AI-powered research assistant, is coming to your phone. After two years as a desktop-only tool, it’s finally going mobile apps drop May 20.
Here's everything you need to know:
NotebookLM helps users summarize, explore, and understand dense documents using AI.
The new mobile apps support iOS, Android, iPads, and tablets—with preorders live now.
Users can create and manage notebooks, upload new materials, and ask questions on the go.
A standout feature: Audio Overviews—auto-generated podcast-style summaries of complex content.
The app will sync across devices, so your work follows you seamlessly. Screenshots suggest a clean, intuitive UI, with mobile-first controls and fast document access.
The timing is no accident: Google I/O kicks off May 20, the same day the apps go live.
Here’s what I think:
NotebookLM might not make headlines like Gemini, but it’s one of Google’s most practical AI tools. A mobile release makes it way more useful especially for students, researchers, and anyone learning on the move.
