How Jennifer Aniston’s LolaVie brand grew sales 40% with CTV ads

For its first CTV campaign, Jennifer Aniston’s DTC haircare brand LolaVie had a few non-negotiables. The campaign had to be simple. It had to demonstrate measurable impact. And it had to be full-funnel.

LolaVie used Roku Ads Manager to test and optimize creatives — reaching millions of potential customers at all stages of their purchase journeys. Roku Ads Manager helped the brand convey LolaVie’s playful voice while helping drive omnichannel sales across both ecommerce and retail touchpoints.

The campaign included an Action Ad overlay that let viewers shop directly from their TVs by clicking OK on their Roku remote. This guided them to the website to buy LolaVie products.

GoPro Is Betting Its Future Beyond Cameras

GoPro built its name by putting cameras everywhere. On helmets. Bikes. Surfboards. Mountains. But its next growth market looks completely different. The company is moving into AI infrastructure and defense. And investors immediately noticed.

  • GoPro announced a merger with photonics company Starman Optical. The deal expands GoPro beyond consumer action cameras.

  • The combined business plans to target AI data centers. Defense applications will become another important growth market.

  • Investors reacted quickly to the unexpected strategy shift. GoPro shares jumped 40% following the announcement.

  • Shareholders will receive $285 million in cash. That works out to roughly $1.14 per share.

  • GoPro also plans to repay $92 million in debt. Its existing camera and subscription businesses will continue operating.

  • The pivot comes after years of investor skepticism. GoPro shares had fallen dramatically since their 2014 debut.

  • GoPro is not alone in chasing AI infrastructure. Companies outside traditional technology are increasingly exploring the opportunity.

The interesting story isn’t GoPro’s 40% stock jump. It’s what that jump says about today’s market. AI demand is pulling companies toward entirely new businesses. Sometimes that creates genuine reinvention. Sometimes it simply creates a better story. GoPro now has to prove which one this is.

Instagram Will Punish AI Profiles That Pretend To Be Human

Instagram has an AI influencer problem. Some profiles look completely human. Their audiences may assume they are real. Sometimes, they only discover the truth much later. Instagram now wants that distinction made obvious.

  • Instagram is introducing an “AI-generated profile” label. It applies when the featured person uses substantial AI generation.

  • Undisclosed AI profiles could lose distribution. Instagram plans to reduce their reach when creators avoid disclosure.

  • Disclosure itself won’t hurt an account’s reach. Instagram says properly labeled AI profiles won’t face automatic penalties.

  • Normal AI editing doesn’t require the label. Photo edits, graphics, and polished captions remain outside this rule.

  • The policy targets a specific problem: manufactured identity. Users increasingly encounter artificial personalities presented as real people.

  • The stakes extend beyond entertainment. AI-generated health personalities have already promoted products and health claims online.

  • Instagram’s response suggests platforms are changing their AI approach. Creation remains welcome, but hidden synthetic identities face more scrutiny.

The internet never required everyone to be authentic. But it relied heavily on knowing who was human. Generative AI makes that assumption increasingly unreliable. Instagram isn’t banning artificial people. It’s asking creators to reveal the illusion. That distinction could become standard across social media. AI content may remain everywhere. But pretending it isn’t AI could become expensive.

Google’s Next Gemini Model Takes Aim at AI Coding

Google has spent years fighting for AI leadership. But coding has remained an important weakness. OpenAI and Anthropic built stronger reputations there. Now Google appears ready to challenge that advantage. Its next Gemini model could make things interesting.

  • Google plans to release Gemini 3.8 Flash soon. Internally, the model carries the codename “Skimaki.”

  • The biggest improvement appears to be coding ability. That matters because Google has lagged key rivals there.

  • Google tested the model inside its internal Jetski coding tool. Engineers compared its performance directly against competing models.

  • In those internal tests, engineers preferred Gemini 3.8 Flash over Anthropic’s Opus model.

  • That result deserves some caution. Internal preferences are useful signals, not independent performance benchmarks.

  • Still, stronger coding could improve Google’s competitive position. Coding agents are becoming an important battleground for AI companies.

  • The bigger question comes after launch. Developers will decide whether Google has truly closed the gap.

AI leadership is becoming harder to hold. A company can lead today and trail tomorrow. That makes distribution, speed, and iteration increasingly important. Google already has enormous distribution. If its models close the remaining capability gaps, that matters. The next battle isn’t about who entered AI first. It’s about who keeps improving fastest.
