Google’s bundling dev perks into AI plans
Plus: Apps arrive in Claude, unlocking hands-on AI workflows
Today we are going to see Google’s bundling dev perks into AI plans, here’s why it matters. Cloud credits, tool access, and fewer roadblocks: Google wants your next AI app live, not stuck in dev. Also Anthropic’s new Claude apps turn it into a real teammate. With app access, Claude can now update files, send messages, and manage tasks across your tools.
In today’s post:
Google just made it easier to go from AI idea to app
Flora is betting node-based design is the future
Claude just got apps, here’s what that unlocks

UPGRADE
Dev tools and cloud credits are now bundled into Google AI subscriptions

Google just announced a quiet but powerful upgrade for builders. If you’re using Google AI Pro or Ultra, you now get premium developer perks without paying extra.
Here’s everything you need to know:
Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers now get Google Developer Program benefits built in.
That includes $10/month in Google Cloud credits for Pro, and $100/month for Ultra.
You can now go from prompt to production without switching tools or subscriptions.
Everything runs through Google’s new agentic stack: AI Studio, Gemini CLI, and Antigravity IDE.
Credits can be used on Gemini API, Vertex AI, or Cloud Run to deploy live apps.
This eliminates the gap between prototyping with AI and launching real software.
All current subscribers can activate benefits today through the Developer Program site.
This is Google solving a real pain point. A lot of devs hit a wall between tinkering and launching not because of technical limits, but billing friction. Bundling credits directly into AI subscriptions lowers the barrier to ship, not just experiment. If you're building with AI, this could quietly become a game-changer.

The $42M design tool that’s quietly catching fire

Flora just raised $42 million from Redpoint Ventures. It’s a node-based AI design tool used by teams at Alibaba, Pentagram, Lionsgate and now, it’s aiming to go mainstream.
Here’s everything you need to know:
Flora lets you generate and remix designs using text, images, or video.
Every variation becomes a node you can branch and iterate from visually.
Think: Figma meets Midjourney with an actual workflow.
Founder Weber Wong created the first version at NYU’s ITP program.
The new funding will go toward enterprise sales, marketing, and pro-level features.
Flora’s big bet: generative AI needs a new creative interface, not retrofitted ones.
At $16/month, it’s also positioning itself as accessible to solo users and small teams.
Design tools haven’t fully adapted to generative AI they’ve just patched it in. Flora’s taking a ground-up approach, rethinking how creative workflows should look when media is generated, not drawn. If it nails simplicity without losing control, this could be a breakout year.

Anthropic launches Claude apps for Slack, Canva, Figma, and more

Anthropic is making Claude more useful at work. Starting this week, users can run interactive apps like Slack and Canva right inside the chatbot interface.
Here’s everything you need to know:
Apps let Claude act inside tools like Box, Figma, Clay, and soon, Salesforce.
You can now send Slack messages or update files without leaving Claude.
The feature is live for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers only.
It’s built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), co-developed with OpenAI.
App access sets the stage for deeper workflows with Claude Cowork.
Cowork is Anthropic’s new agent that handles multistep tasks using Claude Code.
Combined, these tools move Claude closer to being a full workplace assistant.
The race to build the “agentic workplace OS” is heating up. Anthropic’s move echoes what OpenAI did with GPTs, but the real value will come from how these tools connect across real workflows. If Claude can edit, message, and analyze all within your existing tools, it might finally feel less like a chatbot and more like a real coworker.
