😯 Tom Hanks on Deepfake AI:

Tom Hanks is not happy.

The beloved actor, who’s played everything from a stranded castaway to a toy cowboy, is now taking on a new, less fun role warning us all about AI scams using his face.

And let’s be clear, Hanks did not sign up for this part.

What’s happening?

  • Apparently, some sneaky AI has decided to use Tom Hanks' wholesome image to sell you miracle cures. As if Forrest Gump would ever try to sell you snake oil!

  • Hanks’ Response: "These ads have been created without my consent, fraudulently, and through AI," Hanks wrote on Instagram, likely with the same expression he had when he realized Wilson was floating away. “I have nothing to do with these products or the shady characters pushing them.”

  • Hanks isn’t alone. Other stars, like Scarlett Johansson, have also been unwillingly cast in AI-generated misadventures. Can you imagine Scarlett’s reaction? Probably something like, "Oh, so now I’m an AI? Great."

Don't Get Fooled by AI Tom So, the next time you see Tom Hanks’ face pop up in an ad promising you the secret to eternal youth, remember: It’s not him, it’s a robot. And as Tom himself might say, "Life is like a box of chocolates—you never know when AI is going to try and scam you!"
