• You can even checkout directly within Perplexity without hopping over to a retailer’s site. Just save your address and payment info, and boom — one-click purchases with tax calculated for you.

• Plus, free shipping on items bought through their system for Pro subscribers…

What I Found Cool

• Unbiased recommendations: Unlike most shopping platforms, there aren’t any “sponsored” slots at least for now. That feels refreshing in a world where every product feels like a paid ad.

• Photo search: Snap a pic, upload it, and Perplexity will try to match the item. It’s a nice little feature if you’ve ever wondered, “Where do I get this exact thing?”

• Merchant perks: They’re building a program where merchants get free tools to power search on their own sites. That’s a win-win for small businesses and buyers.

This feels like Perplexity stepping up to challenge Google and Amazon in e-commerce search. Sure, it’s not perfect you’ll need to trust the recommendations, and it’s early days for the feature but it’s clear they’re aiming to make online shopping smoother.

For me, the ease of use and lack of ad clutter stood out. If they keep this up, they might just carve out a unique spot in the AI shopping space. It’s simple, helpful, and feels like it’s built with users in mind.
