The AI notetaker that gets the hard words right

Your AI is only as good as what you feed it. Feed it a transcript with your product names, acronyms, and numbers spelled wrong, and you spend the afternoon hand-fixing the output.

Wispr Flow Notetaker uses your dictionary and calendar, so product names, acronyms, numbers, and uncommon names come out spelled right. It pops up when your meeting starts and captures Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, and Slack huddles with one click, no bot joining the call.

Then your meetings show up inside Claude or ChatGPT through the built-in connector. No copy paste. Try Notetaker free on Mac and Windows.

NVIDIA Wants to Make AI Factories Easier to Build

NVIDIA is taking a different approach to scaling AI infrastructure. At the OCP Global Summit on October 12, it announced several major partnerships. Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Cisco are part of the effort. The goal is to make massive AI data centers more efficient. And NVIDIA is opening parts of its architecture to help.

Here's what you need to know:

  • NVIDIA is opening its Vera Rubin architecture. It contributed rack and computing designs to the Open Compute Project, helping manufacturers build compatible AI infrastructure.

  • AI factories could become easier to scale. NVIDIA's updated MGX 1.2 architecture supports racks consuming up to 250kW, with standardized cooling, power, and networking.

  • Google, Meta, and Microsoft are backing open infrastructure standards. New specifications cover data center design and how facilities respond to power grid disruptions.

  • Meta is adopting NVIDIA's next-generation networking technology. Its Spectrum-6 Ethernet switches offer 102.4 terabits per second of switching capacity, supporting AI systems with over 100,000 GPUs.

  • NVIDIA and Cisco are developing faster network connections. Their new USFP standard targets four times the bandwidth density of traditional optical modules.

  • Google is bringing its networking technology to NVIDIA hardware. Falcon Transport support aims to improve data movement and reliability across large AI clusters.

  • NVIDIA is also releasing open-source infrastructure software. New tools automate network configuration, hardware testing, rack management, and AI cluster deployment.

The AI race isn't just about building smarter models anymore. It's increasingly about the infrastructure that makes those models possible. Computing power matters, but so do electricity, cooling, and networking. NVIDIA seems to understand this better than most. By opening its infrastructure designs, it can encourage wider adoption. That could strengthen its position across the entire AI ecosystem. But open standards also give customers more flexibility. The interesting question is who benefits most from that trade-off. Will open infrastructure make AI cheaper for everyone? Or will it make NVIDIA even harder to replace?

Character.ai Could Shut Down by December

Character.ai has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The AI chatbot platform is now looking for a buyer. Its future depends on what happens next. If no suitable buyer emerges, the platform could shut down. And the decision could come within weeks.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Character.ai has entered bankruptcy proceedings. The company announced its voluntary Chapter 11 filing on October 12, 2026.

  • The company is looking for a buyer. A court-supervised sale could allow the platform to continue operating.

  • A shutdown is now possible. Character.ai says it may wind down without an acceptable offer.

  • The sale has a short timeline. The company expects completion by late November or early December 2026.

  • Users can still access the platform. Character.ai says its services remain operational during the process.

  • Paid subscriptions remain active. Billing continues unchanged, although subscribers may receive updates if services change.

  • Users can export their conversations. The company says its privacy practices remain unchanged. Users can also download their data or delete their accounts.

Character.ai's situation raises a question beyond one company's survival. What happens when people build relationships with platforms they don't control? For many users, these conversations aren't just another digital service. They hold memories, routines, and personal meaning. Bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean Character.ai will disappear. But it shows how quickly a familiar platform can become uncertain. And that's worth considering as AI companionship becomes more common. Would you trust an AI companion with memories you couldn't replace?

Meta Is Finally Challenging OpenAI and Anthropic

Meta has introduced two new AI models: Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full. Both are designed to compete with the industry's best models. And early benchmark results suggest Meta is closing the gap. This marks a major shift in its AI ambitions.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Meta unveiled two flagship AI models on October 12. Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full target advanced reasoning, writing, and coding tasks.

  • The models are approaching Anthropic's performance. According to Meta's own benchmarks, both models performed nearly as well as Anthropic's leading systems.

  • Coding is becoming a major priority. The new models show significant improvements over Meta's previous releases, targeting a market dominated by OpenAI and Anthropic.

  • Muse Wonder will power Meta's AI agent. The model will support parts of Muse, an app that can perform tasks across software.

  • The most powerful version comes with restrictions. Muse Wonder Full will only be available through Meta's premium Muse Code subscription.

  • Alexandr Wang's AI division is starting to deliver. Following his appointment in June 2025, Meta has released two model series under his leadership.

  • Meta is competing through massive distribution. Its platforms reach roughly 3.5 billion users, giving Meta enormous potential to introduce its AI products.

Meta doesn't necessarily need the smartest AI model to win. It already owns platforms that billions of people use daily. That's a distribution advantage most AI companies cannot easily replicate. But access alone doesn't guarantee trust or usefulness. Meta still needs to prove its models deliver consistently. The bigger question isn't simply who builds the best AI. It's who makes AI genuinely useful in everyday life. And Meta now has another opportunity to answer that question.
